As the concealed artifacts behind historical conspiracies become public information, my work reexamines the role of conspiracy and how it has shaped American culture. I expose how American cultural and political hegemony obstructs the formation of power from the people by disrupting and obscuring information. My videos, drawings, and sound installations examine how cultural narratives are manipulated and controlled. This examination is first distilled through a series of charcoal drawings where I extract from those drawings, stories, environments, and dialogues into video and interactive media that analyze the dynamics of power at the highest levels. The obfuscation of form and content in my work mirrors the manipulation that language, narratives, and culture undergo when used to reinforce the control of the powerful.
